Latitudo 40 for
Agenda 2030

At Latitudo 40 we are fully committed to the 2030 Agenda
and its sustainable development goals.
Through a number of applications, we discuss how extensive
EO will provide a substantial contribution to the achievements
of the SDGs by enabling decision-making and by addressing
cross-cutting them such as climate and energy.

Simple and Performing.

Our data analytics platform is based on satellite images and artificial intelligence, providing understandable data that leads to decisions that are economically sound and sustainable.

Thanks to a flexible, zero-code approach, Latitudo 40 offers a new way to create, deploy and scale geospatial applications, improving life on our planet and helping to achieve Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2030 – link).

Sustainable Development Goal 2:
Zero Hunger

Why is it essential today to monitor agricultural fields?

Crop monitoring not only prevents the production and spread of pests, but also ensures that diseases and weeds that tend to appear are kept under control without causing serious problems in terms of performance and final product results. Latitudo 40, thanks to its AgriAlytics platform, allows a more productive, more effective agriculture with greater respect for the environment and natural resources. Thanks to remote sensing algorithms we monitor crops and increase the productivity of each individual field by reducing the use of water and fertilizers.

Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well being

Latitudo 40 implemented a set of algorithms able to identify surface heat islands on the territory helping targeting priority areas for the implementation of solutions, such as greening our cities with street trees, urban parks, and rooftop gardens. Among our services users have the possibility of monitoring the air quality we breathe. Having accurate data on atmospheric quality allows our cities to make eco-sustainable choices by increasing the health of our citizens.

Sustainable Development Goal 6:
Clean Water and Sanitation

Latitudo 40, thanks to its Pipe Monitoring platform, allows water management organizations to detect water leaks from water networks. It is estimated that of all the drinking water injected into the 500 thousand km of the Italian distribution network, 41.4% is lost. In a single year, 3.45 billion cubic meters of water are wasted. Thanks to innovative algorithms Latitudo 40 identifies water network anomalies for rapid and effective operations.

Sustainable Development Goal 7:
Affordable and Clean Energy

Latitudo 40 embraces point 7 of the Agenda 2030. Our team is constantly working to create new services in the field of sustainable energy. With our Urban Monitoring platform, we analyze the potential of new solar panel installations and monitor existing plants, estimating the production capacity of new installations detecting, thanks to artificial intelligence applied to satellite images, any potential malfunctions that may reduce the production capacity.

Sustainable Development Goal 9:
Industry, Innovation and
Infrastructure

Monitor kilometers of electricity grids by identifying
points where vegetation growth could disrupt electrical transmission.
How does it do this? Through the analysis of satellite
images! It sends an alert signal, improving maintenance work,
preventing power outages minimizing in situ checks.

Sustainable Development Goal 11:
Sustainable Cities and
Communities

At Latitudo 40 we work to give a concrete contribution to the broad and fascinating theme of Smart Cities and to foster a future vision of the places where we live. This is why we develop and improve a number of indexes that measure the quality of urban life, combining parameters such as the number of green areas and buildings, providing a continuous update overtime of the cities’ evolution.
